Stroud Artists Books

Frances Day

From an initial love of clothes-making, I moved into creative textile art, working with wearable art as well as contemporary embroidery and fabric constructions. More recently this has led me into working with paper and finally I found my niche with Artists Books.
Discovering the Stroud Artists Book group was the perfect opportunity to give me scope to incorporate my skills with photography and computer-generated artwork, as well as learning to use bookbinding techniques. The group’s support and willingness to share and educate has been a huge impetus in my artistic life.
I try to make work that reflects my interests in science and technology, as well as communicating the craft and beauty of the book as an art form.
